CLOTHING RECOMMENDATIONS
THE UPPER BODY – Opt for the freely falling clothing with simple cuts. Dresses and blouses with the waistline below the chest or on the hips are preferable. Empire cut is very appealing. Also, wrap-blouses that tie under the bust, NOT on the waist. Well suited are one buttoned jackets, coats, and knits that fasten right below the chest.
It is advisable to wear shaping underwear or a skintight tank top under the clothes, and a silk undershirt to assure a better fit if the blouses.
NECKLINE – V-neckline will highlight the bust.
BELT & ACCESSORIES – Belt can be narrow or wide, but it must be worn either under the bust line or on the hips. Large jewelry that extends over the bust.
FABRIC – Free-falling and flowing fabrics like silk, viscose, and linen.
COLOURS & PATTERNS – Large patterns can be worn, assuming they are not very contrasting in color and structure. Fine vertical stripes create the impression of a longer and slimmer body, horizontal stripes should be avoided. It is advisable to wear dark solid colors on the upper part of the body, and especially the waist, because that creates the impression of a smaller size. Feel free to experiment with colorful trousers and skirts, but big contrast patterns should be avoided.
THE LOWER BODY – Pencil skirts and tight-fitting, straight or slightly flaring pants should be monochromatic (not bright) or with a fine hint of pattern. Eye-catching tights are well suited to turn the attention away from the bulky upper body to the legs.
SWIMWEAR & BIKINI – One-piece swimsuit with a reinforced stomach area, should have darker inserts on the sides, or a narrow stripe, as well as the asymmetrical draping or a skirt. A two-piece bathing suit is also a good choice. The top of a two part bathing suit should be longer than the middle part of the body or extend down to the hips. The bust area could be lighter or with a delicate pattern, avoiding large contrasting patterns that highlight the voluptuous breasts even more. It is important that the mid-section of the bathing suit/bikini are darker than the chest. The bikini bottoms could be high-waisted and have an embellishment – laces or a belt. Skirt bikini bottoms are also suitable. Sweetheart neckline is preferable for both swimsuits and bikini.
THE DON'T-s
THE UPPER BODY – Wrap dresses and blouses that tie at the waist draw too much attention to where it should not be. Halter-necks should also be avoided. Jackets and blouses should be hip-length. Furry knits, and jerseys will not favor the figure. Waist-length or a tucked in shirt will make the mid-section appear even wider.
THE LOWER BODY – Avoid anything that draws attention to the mid-section of the body: pants and skirts that are frilled on the waist and side pockets; embellishments and large patterns; long maxi-skirt, which will leave a rough impression. Also, cargo pants, and pants that are loose on the hip with a slimming leg..
NECKLINE – Small closed collared neckline and passé.
WAIST & ACCESSORIES – Large patterns, overlays, and other eye-catching details at the mid-section. Necklace that is dangling at the waist draw unwanted attention to the non-existent waist.
FABRIC – heavy, stiff and thick fabrics.
